Funding
Advocating for proper funding of the field in a manner that is consistent with the severity of the epidemic. This includes federal block grant funding, as well as advocacy to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services to cover addiction treatment similar to mental health conditions and in parity with medical conditions. See more about our annual Hill Day.
Workforce
Our field is facing a serious workforce shortage. Collaborations and legislation are encouraged to foster the attraction and maintenance of a robust, skilled workforce. This includes scholarships, tuition discounts, and advocacy for student loan forgiveness.
Policy Briefs
PAAP Participates in National Policy brief development on a range of issues such as funding, cannabis, workforce, critical issues in the Black community, confidentiality, parity, and more.
